State Chapters

Power of Pawns has established three chapters across the United States, located in Wisconsin, California, Connecticut and Massachusetts. We are seeking nominations from high school students interested in promoting chess nationwide and sharing their knowledge with youth across the country.

Nate Lee (Head Instructor of the CT Chapter )

Nate Lee is the Director of the Connecticut Chapter of Power of Pawns. He lives in Avon and attends his local high school. Nate got into chess as a younger kid, where he was taught by his father, and fell in love with the game. Now, he plays regularly in tournaments and online, achieving an online rating of 2000.

To express his passion for the game, he has collaborated with local libraries and communities, taught instructive chess lessons, and grown the Power of Pawns initiative in his home state. Nate is devoted to expanding access to chess and inspiring others to discover the joy and benefits the game can bring.
