Unleash the Power of Pawns

Why Chess?

I have heard countless people say that chess is useless, nerdy, or a boring game, but these people have never touched a chess piece in their life. Chess, especially for young children and elders is a fun way for them to compete while being beneficial at all stages of development.

All aspects of the game of chess are applicable in real life. How many times have you heard a sports commentator or someone say that something is a “chess match”? They are definitely correct, but if you look deeper, life, itself, is actually a chess match. On each move, each player has to make a decision that can change the game. The series of decisions creates and decides the fate of the game. Similarly, life is about making decisions, and like a chess game, life is about making the correct choices. This makes a chess player the ultimate decision-maker.

It is also clearly seen that people who learn chess from a young age have a much higher ability to think critically which becomes very crucial in high school and in higher education. Chess has shown an increase in test scores, mathematical skills, and scholastic achievements. In general, chess is a game that sets children up for success in life and a game that is under-appreciated in society.
